Hello,
we (no, a friend of us, momentarily far away in Africa) need to transfer
files between two machines (One running Win98, one WinME) occasionly.
He was asking how to connect these two computers via USB.
He is no Windows expert, I'm not, too. And:
Of course, I'd like to propose a linux solution :-)
Is any of the one-diskette-linuxes (tombsrtbt for example)
able to play in such a game:
- Connecting the cables
- inserting the diskette in both machines
- booting into linux
- starting the net via usb
- mounting the vfat filesystems
- copy the data via netcat or ftp or something else
- shutdown
Or, if there is no such beast, what would I need,
if I had 'normal' Linux didtributions running on the computer.
- Which kernel is minimum, what should be configured in the kernel?
- How do I connect two machines via USB?
If I know how to link "normal" Linux boxes, I can try to reduce it myself.
Any answers, solutions, hints, links are very welcome
As always, thank you in advance
Matthias Maisenbacher
