Hi Linux USB hackers,

I still could not solve the USB problem of the Transilica bluetooth
Evaluation Kit http://www.transilica.com/prod.html, in kernel 2.4.9.

I also approached the vendor. They pass me a new evaluation kit, which is
proven working in the windows environment

But in Linux environment no matter uhci or usb-uhci the result are the same:

Dec 21 13:18:14 desktop12 kernel: usb.c: USB device not responding, giving
up (error=-32)

Dec 21 13:18:14 desktop12 kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1,
assigned device number 5

Dec 21 13:18:14 desktop12 kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame#
250

Dec 21 13:18:14 desktop12 kernel: usb.c: USB device not responding, giving
up (error=-32)

Dec 21 13:18:40 desktop12 kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1,
assigned device number 6

Dec 21 13:18:40 desktop12 kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame#
1929

Dec 21 13:18:40 desktop12 kernel: usb.c: USB device not responding, giving
up (error=-32)

Dec 21 13:18:41 desktop12 kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1,
assigned device number 7

Dec 21 13:18:41 desktop12 kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame#
151

Dec 21 13:18:41 desktop12 kernel: usb.c: USB device not responding, giving
up (error=-32)

Here are the messages in the /proc/bus/usb/devices:

T: Bus=01 Lev=00 Prnt=00 Port=00 Cnt=00 Dev#= 1 Spd=12 MxCh= 2

B: Alloc= 0/900 us ( 0%), #Int= 0, #Iso= 0

D: Ver= 1.00 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS= 8 #Cfgs= 1

P: Vendor=0000 ProdID=0000 Rev= 0.00

S: Product=USB UHCI-alt Root Hub

S: SerialNumber=ef80

C:* #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=40 MxPwr= 0mA

I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 1 Cls=09(hub ) Sub=00 Prot=00 Driver=hub

E: Ad=81(I) Atr=03(Int.) MxPS= 8 Ivl=255ms

Here are the messages in the /proc/bus/usb/drivers:

usbdevfs

hub

hci_usb

I also put the vendor information (03e8-03ef) into the
/usr/src/linux***/drivers/pci/pci.ids and
/usr/src/linux***/drivers/pci/devlist.h.

But it does not help at all.

Please tell me what does the error -32 mean? What are the possible places I
could modify in the usb.c file or else where?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

David
