I am attempting to use the generic USB serial driver to talk to a tripp lite UPS. I am using devfs. After I insmod usbserial vendor=0x09ae product=0x001 there is nothing in /dev/usb. I'm using kernel 2.4.17 on an x86 box. My motherboard is an intel se440bx-2. Distribution is Debian unstable.
