Hi all,
I have a problem with mounting of my usb-storage which in fact is
a smart-card reader.
I have installed SuSE professional 7.3
Into my kernel I have added (compiled onto) modules for
generic SCSI ,SCSI disk support, SCSI tape support ...
I have also added modules for USB like the usb-storage.o.
My smart-card reader is (according to the Microsoft installation)
Company=DATAFAB Systems, Inc.
Application=Media Reader
Version=1.09
Category=Generic
Class=hdc
provider=General
Manufacturer=General
DeviceDesc="USB Storage Drive"
I have used the program usbview and see that the kernel has found the
smart-card reader.
This is from the usbview program:
Mass Storage
Manufacturer: USB

USB Version: 1.10

Max Packet Size: 64
Interval: 0ms
Endpoint Address: 02
Direction: out
Attribute: 2

My problem is that the device is not showing up under
/proc/scsi/scsi which only holds:
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP Model: CD-Writer+ 8100 Rev: 1.0g
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02
When I'm running dmesg I can see the following about usb:
usb.c: registered new driver usbdevfs
usb.c: registered new driver hub
usb-uhci.c: $Revision: 1.268 $ time 16:46:46 Feb 2 2002
usb-uhci.c: High bandwidth mode enabled

usb-uhci.c: USB UHCI at I/O 0xd800, IRQ 11
usb-uhci.c: Detected 2 ports
usb.c: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 2
usb-uhci.c: v1.268:USB Universal Host Controller Interface driver
usb.c: registered new driver usblp
usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x7c4/0xa400) is not claimed by any
active driver.
This last line is pointing out my smart-card reader according to
the usbview program.
What can I do in order to get the smart-card reader mounted ?
Kind regards,
Ragnar Skaret
