Hello, I just recently set my Debian 2.2 Linux computer up to utilise the USB interfaces. I compiled USB support in kernel 2.4.17. I want my Samsung printer to use the USB port so I selected the following USB options:
Support for USB USB verbose debug messages Preliminary USB device file system UHCI support (My computer has a VIA chipset) USB printer support The problem I'm having is that if I look in /proc/bus/usb/ I get nothing. Additionally, If I try to make a USB device with the MAKEDEV command, it complains and says it doesn't know how to make a USB device. Can anyone help me out on how to create USB devices in the /dev directory? Any help would be appreciated.
