What's all this? There's no need!
I've got open source drivers for the 802.11b devices.
I own the USB 802.11b interface by Linksys, Also the PCMCIA
based one. I've got the drivers working on 2.4.x and they are
open source.

Reverse engineering isn't against the law. if the product is on the
open market it's fair game.

I'm working on drivers for my Polaroid ColorShot printer now.
And how do I do it? I lof communication between the printer and
my box under win98, I then boot Linux and write code that will get
the same done, the printer is pretty cool too, it rasterizes to a LCD
and flash exposes the poloroid film inside it. Pretty cool. Polaroid didn't
deliver a programming kit, so this is how I got the info on how to print it.
EAST really, and not against the law.

I'd imaging the wlan group did the same.
There's no "license" regulating the hardware. gee... get over it!
