Device : USB Flash Drive from Transcend, 128MB
OS : SUSE 7.3
>From the boot.msg and /var/log/messages the Drive is correctly
recognised as sdb : sdb1 and is installed properly. There is even a
drive icon on my KDE2 desktop.
/etc/fstab has this line in : /dev/sdb1 /mnt/usbpd vfat
noauto,user 0 0
I created the mount point myself /mnt/usbpd. I've tried vfat and auto
neither work. I've also tried to format the drive as ext2 but the yast2
partion program just crashed!
Mounting is the problem and gives the following messages in
/var/log/messages :-
Mar 7 13:46:03 supermarine kernel: SCSI device (ioctl) reports ILLEGAL
REQUEST.
Mar 7 13:46:03 supermarine kernel: VFS: Disk change detected on device

Mar 7 13:46:03 supermarine kernel: sdb: I/O error: dev 08:10, sector 0
Mar 7 13:46:03 supermarine kernel: unable to read partition table
The drive works under Windows ME without a problem.
Can anyone help? or point me in the right direction to find help?
