How do you feel about kernel hacking (actually, minor adjusting)? The usb-storage driver isn't recognizing your device and will have to be specifically informed of it's presence by editing a header file. I'd suggest a google search for your device and linux to see if some one else has sorted out the parameters. Also check the working devices list. The archive of this list will have a set of poor instructions for doing this which I posted a couple of weeks ago.
