Oh, I got plenty of devices to work without any useful support, so,
while annoying, this isn't necessarily a show-stopper for me. An
intentionally obscured protocol, or a transport that is hard to
reverse-engineer would be, though. (I haven't worked with USB yet,
so I don't know how hard things are there in general.)

Sorry, I didn't want to give the impression of advertizing their
product. The link you found is the correct one.
