Hi, I'm strugling with a problem, and I hope someone here can help me. I have searched the web, newsgroup archives, basicly everyting I could find, but I did not find the solution.
Problem: my system freezes a couple of seconds after connecting my camera. Only a hard reset will get it running again. System: Linux Redhat 7.1, kernel 2.4.18, single PII@392Mhz on an Intel 440BX board. The kernel has been compiled with: -modular SCSI support -modular SCSI disk support -modular SCSI generic support -verbose SCSI error reporting -SCSI logging facility -modular USB support -USB verbose debug messages -Preliminary USB device filesystem -Long timeout for slow-responding devices -modular UHCI support -modular UHCI Alternate Driver (JE) support -modular USB Mass Storage support -USB Mass Storage verbose debug Camera: Olympus Camedia 700 Ultra Zoom The last part before the reboot in my /var/log/messages reads: ==== Jun 18 21:22:44 andre kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/1, assigned device number 2 Jun 18 21:22:44 andre kernel: Manufacturer: OLYMPUS Jun 18 21:22:44 andre kernel: Product: C-700 Ultra Zoom? I hate having to boot to windows just to download my pictures from my cam. Thanks a lot! Andr BTW: the problem looks very similar to the one reported here: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-usb-users&m=102329989526016&w=2 -- We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the internet, we know this is not true.
