Yes, if I select eject (or maybe remove), aside from the syncing process 
the disk also spins down. Strange, but neither Win2000 nor WinXP need a 
special driver for doing this. Maybe this device "knows" what windows 
intents.

Btw. this device uses the sl11r-ide chip with the "device not accepting 
..." problem on 2.4.x linux kernels which I already reported to the 
developer list.
