It worked also for me, for an Optio 430RS, using a 2.4.18-pre8-ac2. I
just added this, and after recompiling I got the mount. I'm very happy!

I did not get those, but:

1) if I start things after mounting a SCSI disk every command on usb
(like ls /proc/bas/usb) just freeze (going on uninterruptible sleep). 

2) after I remove the camera I have to manually remove usb-storage,
sd_mod and scsi_mod to get back a working scsi for disks and CD.
