hello

i'm tring to get my external ide drive running. Using a external freecom cdrom
case.

#dmesg
ub.c: USB new device connect on bus1/2, assigned device number 2
usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x7ab/0xfc03) is not claimed by any active
driver.
SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
usb.c: registered new driver usb-storage
scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
resize_dma_pool: unknown device type -1

it's not possible to open the scsi device files /dev/sda(b,c,d,e,...).

ls /proc/bus/usb is freezing! cat /proc/bus/usb/devices too.

#cat /proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
  Vendor: Model: Rev:
Type: <NULL> ANSI SCSI revision: ffffffff

#cat /proc/scsi/usb-storage-0/0
(file is empty)

ideas?
