You should ask this not on linux-usb-users list but on alsa-users list (or something, I don't know how it is called), because your problem is related to ALSA. There is nothing wrong with the USB part, and it works - even better than you wanted :-) Normally, USB devices are added to the list of audio devices, and old devices should not be affected. You can have many audio devices, and it does not really matter if some of them are USB. Dmitri
