Hi, I'm the unlucky owner of a Sony Vaio SR11K, and for the second time my pcmcia port broke. The first time was under warrantee, so I got a replacement, but the warrantee on their own repair is limited to 6 months, so now after 9 months, I'm looking at a 900+ euro repair bill to get this fixed (for another year, since it's practically guaranteed to break again)
So I'm looking for alternatives, and went looking for USB 2 Pcmcia converters, since I have too many pcmcia cards (wireless, lan, gprs, cdrom) I've found only one so far at http://www.arstech.com/usbpcmcia.htm I'm wondering if there is Linux support for it, or if it would be terribly difficult to write it (they do include some windows SDK) Or perhaps someone else knows about another adapter out there? Paul -- God devised pigeons as a means of punishment for man. Probably after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha he wanted to make sure that people would never again feel comfortable enough in a city to repeat the sins committed there, and he created the pigeons as a means to make the city dwellers' lives more miserable, as a constant reminder of their past sins. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
