Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
2003-03-05
I am user of an USB-supported CD burning device. The product name is
"LITE-ON LTR-401 25S" and the producing company is the French hardware company
LACIE. The reading speed is 48x, burning 40x and rewriting at 16x (provided an
USB-2 connection is used). The device has an USB-IF connection and is according
to the user's manual capable of adapting to either original USB-1 or high
speed USB-2 connections. The device was delivered with a half version of "Roxio
Easy Burn 5.0".
I was very content with using that product. I used to burn data CDs at a
speed of 40x and music CDs at 16x. Then just a couple of weeks ago I had
problems with my whole operating system and I had to give it to a computer service.
Eversince I got my computer back and reinstalled all programs and drivers as
before the maximum writing speed for any kinds of burning jobs is only 4x.
My question is: What is the cause of that? -Is it possible that this
computer service I gave my computer to fix to has removed my 2 USB-2-ports and
replaced it by normal USB-1-ports? What other possibilities are there and what do
you suggest me to do?
I'd be very thankful for your professional advice and I'm waiting eagerly
for your response!
Yours sincerely
Adam Korsitzky
