Hi all, First of all, sorry for the long mail. I'm quite clueless concerning my new 6in1 Multi Panel card reader. I set up usb-uhci, usb-storage (Kernel 2.4.20, Debian -3-k7) and friends and I get in /proc/scsi/scsi:
Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00 Vendor: ICSI Model: IC1100 CF Rev: 2.5b Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 01 Vendor: ICSI Model: IC1100 MS Rev: 2.5b Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 02 Vendor: ICSI Model: IC1100 MMC/SD Rev: 2.5b Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 Host: scsi1 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 03 Vendor: ICSI Model: IC1100 SM Rev: 2.5b Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 So far so good. But with a plugged in CF-Card (which should then be /dev/sdb1), it doesn't work because I don't get any partitions. In /proc/partitions there is only this kind of line (no .../part1 stuff) 8 16 1048575 scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/disc 20 60 160 160 0 0 0 0 0 160 160 I verified that the card reader and the card are OK under a Win98 system (so there are most probably no hardware issues involved). When I try to access it, it spits out stuff like sdb : READ CAPACITY failed. sdb : status = 0, message = 00, host = 7, driver = 00 sdb : sense not available. sdb : block size assumed to be 512 bytes, disk size 1GB. /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0: I/O error: dev 08:10, sector 0 I/O error: dev 08:10, sector 0 unable to read partition table usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1180 I can't even fdisk /dev/sdb! In the log I get huge amounts of this stuff: May 30 18:34:33 nonabel kernel: usb-storage: Soft reset failed: -110 May 30 18:34:33 nonabel kernel: usb-storage: scsi cmd done, result=0x70000 May 30 18:34:33 nonabel kernel: usb-storage: *** thread sleeping.
