Does this mean I have to recompile?
If so, how can I do it painlessly and easily without loosing all my stuff or
un-installing any stuff (which was what happened last time).

Works now at one of my three computers at my site with this entry in=20
unusual_devs.h:

The other two seem to have problems with the USB controller at high data =
rates=20
as the USB mouse runs fine but the kernel will panic or hangs with flasin=
g=20
SHIFT/SCROLL LOCK lights on accesses to the hard drive.
