I saw this problem in the archive but the answer wasn't clear for me so I ask it again:
I've got a Prolific Pendrive USB2.0 and get the next error message, after trying: fdisk /dev/sda or tried to mount it:
hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-1, assigned address 3 hub.c: USB hub found hub.c: 1 port detected hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-1.1, assigned address 4 scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Vendor: Prolific Model: UsbFlashDisk Rev: PROL Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured USB Mass Storage device found at 4 Attached scsi removable disk sda at scsi1, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 SCSI device sda: 512000 512-byte hdwr sectors (262 MB) sda: Write Protect is off /dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0: p1 p2 p4 usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1021 Device 08:00 not ready. I/O error: dev 08:00, sector 0
So is it possible to use this device with the 1.1 port? If yes please tell me how?
Sorry for this question if it had been answered before, but I am not expert of the Linux modules, drivers concept, so I need a detailed help.
The system is Mandrake 9.1, kernel: 2.4.21 but the problem comes with other distributions and kernel versions too.
Thanks in advance, Sandor
