Is there a universal low level format
utility for usb key chains a /k / a
flash drives or flash disks?
I recovered an OTi ('OURS TECH') [EMAIL PROTECTED] 128 MB disk
with the utility from cigarusb.com. Fine.

Now, not OK thanks to Norton and /or Adaptec ('Drive Preparer") in Windows
I lost a Super Talent Flash Drive 128 MB and now
even fdisk in Linux does not see the drive ("Unable to read")
The vendor 067 is Prolific and they have nothing
expect a high level format utility ("Prolific Internet Support").
Once Norton Disk Editor saw the drive (SCSI of course) but no more.
The [EMAIL PROTECTED] utility does not see any disk but its own.
The transparent drive shows a Samsung K9F big chip
 and a PL-2515 03201D code.

Any suggestions? The drive registers in usb view and system info
and also in Windows My Computer ("Drive not ready").

These devices have a 'security feature' so that a password
is needed to access (in Windows only?) but that causes
partition problems. I did not set it up.
