I recently bought a pair of headsets, model Logitech Premium Stereo USB Headset 30. The computer hangs as soon as I connect the headset. The screen freezes, the keyboard and mouse input stops working and there is no access to the computer from the network. The only solution is to power cycle.
The same thing happens on two different computers (Dell Latitude CPx, Noname AMD 1800+) both running Mandrake 9.1 with kernel 2.4.21-0.25mdk. Non-USB headsets work ok, as well as other USB devices (mouse, camera, webcam, etc). The following message is printed in /var/log/messages just before the hangup: Oct 4 16:59:48 mybox1 kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-1.3, assigned address 5 Oct 4 16:59:48 mybox1 kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 863 Oct 4 16:59:48 mybox1 kernel: input2: USB HID v1.00 Pointer [Logitech Logitech USB Headset] on usb1:5.3 Any ideas?
