-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 hi,
everytime i'm connecting my memory-stick, the scsi address is increased by one, causing the stick to be mapped to a different device (1st connect: /dev/ sda, 2nd connect: /dev/sdb.. ). Is there there a possibility that there's a bug within usb_core within the 2.6.0(-test6) kernels? A friend reported the same problems with his digicam running 2.6.0-test6. like described in the topic, it seems like the address is not getting reaesed by usb_storage when the device is removed. below you find some output created when plugin' in and out the stick two times: <-- schnipp --> hub 1-0:1.0: new USB device on port 5, assigned address 8 scsi7 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Vendor: USB Model: Flash Drive Rev: 1.11 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 SCSI device sdg: 253949 512-byte hdwr sectors (130 MB) sdg: Write Protect is off sdg: Mode Sense: 00 08 00 00 SCSI device sdg: drive cache: write through /dev/scsi/host7/bus0/target0/lun0: p1 p2 p4 Attached scsi removable disk sdg at scsi7, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Attached scsi generic sg1 at scsi7, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0 WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured USB Mass Storage device found at 8 usb 1-5: USB disconnect, address 8 hub 1-0:1.0: new USB device on port 5, assigned address 9 scsi8 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices Vendor: USB Model: Flash Drive Rev: 1.11 Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02 SCSI device sdh: 253949 512-byte hdwr sectors (130 MB) sdh: Write Protect is off sdh: Mode Sense: 00 08 00 00 SCSI device sdh: drive cache: write through /dev/scsi/host8/bus0/target0/lun0: p1 p2 p4 Attached scsi removable disk sdh at scsi8, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Attached scsi generic sg1 at scsi8, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 0 WARNING: USB Mass Storage data integrity not assured USB Mass Storage device found at 9 usb 1-5: USB disconnect, address 9 <-- schnapp --> thanks in advance and keep on rockin' sven - -- ..never argue with idiots. they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.3 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/f+IVPV/e7f4i4AERAsatAKCMYSsNYLcOA+nsKatyowSr/01+NQCfcMvu mKrlA0axcAUcddrUuDycFzo= =VBVm -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe, use the last form field at: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/linux-usb-users
