I recently upgraded my SuSE 9.0 to kernel 2.6.3 (from kernel.org, not any rpms).
Everything is OK except for my Muvo mp3 player (the one with 128MB). Under 2.4.x
(default kernel with the distro) it worked fine. With 2.6.3 I cannot mount it (same problem as well with 2.6.2).
usb-storage and scsi modules are loaded and that's all. I looked in dmesg and I _think_ the problem is in:
[....]
Feb 17 19:45:47 niobi kernel: usb-storage: Illegal Request: Logical block
address out of range
Feb 17 19:45:47 niobi kernel: usb-storage: scsi cmd done, result=0x2
Feb 17 19:45:47 niobi kernel: usb-storage: *** thread sleeping.
Feb 17 19:45:47 niobi kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 56000
Feb 17 19:45:47 niobi kernel: Buffer I/O error on device sdb, logical lock 256000
[....]
It seems to be a specific issue with my mp3 player as I tested another usb disk and it worked just fine.
Any ideas? If needed tell me to send full dmesg output...
Tnx,
Tom.
