Assistance would be appreciated with the problem described. I would
ultimately like to use this external case with an LG DVD-Burner for portable
back-up of business data.
regards,
Darryl Barlow
Brief Description of Problem:
Failure to recognise MacPower USBIDE Usb-Ide Adaptor (External case with Atapi
CDROM connected).
Full Description of Problem:
This is an external case with an Atapi CDROM drive installed. I believe the
USB-IDE chip may be from Scanlogic but have not looked into this as yet. If
connected and turned on at boot the boot will freeze after the following
lines:
Mar 21 22:47:40 darrylt kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using
address 2
Mar 21 22:47:41 darrylt kernel: Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
Mar 21 22:47:41 darrylt kernel: scsi0 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage
devices
If hotplugged messages and syslog show the same lines but without a
corresponding freeze.
It appears the problem is that this device is not being properly recognised.
