I agree with you on that: the device is replying with a zero-length
packet to a READ_10 scsi command.

I was just pointing out that with 2.4, the driver (correctly) reports
an I/O error. In 2.6, no error is reported and vfat is fed back some
random crap, which makes it to user space...

I was just pointing the regression in 2.6.
