Instead of blaming the kernel developers and maintainers, why don't
you spend that energy writing to Phillips and requesting them to
open-source their protocols and algorithms? I have a Motorola A760
GSM phone which doesn't synch with Linux. Rather than spend my time
moaning and bewailing my lot, I've been actively pushing Motorola to
open-source their synch protocol. I don't know if it'll work, but at
least I tried.
Of course, if it doesn't work expect a scathing diatribe against
Motorola and its NDA-based non-FLOSS-friendly policies. I hope I have
enough standing in the Indian Linux community to abort at least 10 and
maybe a 100 or more potential sales of the A760. Hit 'em where it
hurts -- in the pocket.
