I think it boils down to this: Dec 4 20:51:32 [kernel] ehci_hcd 0000:02:0b.2: NEC Corporation USB 2.0 Dec 4 20:51:32 [kernel] ehci_hcd 0000:02:0b.2: irq 5, pci mem d4a88000 Dec 4 20:51:32 [kernel] ehci_hcd 0000:02:0b.2: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 3 Dec 4 20:51:33 [kernel] ehci_hcd 0000:02:0b.2: fatal error
Here's my devices file. I Find it a bit inacessible personally: http://www.ajpearce.co.uk/files/usb1-mode/devices.txt I believe ehci-hcd is represented as "root-hub" because this disappears when the echi-hcd module is unloaded. It's also 480mb/sec capable (in devices somewhere too): http://www.ajpearce.co.uk/files/usb1-mode/root-hub.png ehci isn't picking up anything inserted into the USB PCI card leaving ohci to take over. When ohci is loaded the devices plugged into the USB2 card are picked up and start running at 12mb/sec. Quoting "Stephen J. Gowdy" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Are you sure you had the ehci module loaded?
