Presumably the two messages indicating a 480 Mb/s connection came before
the port was reset and hence before the actual speed was known.

I have no idea what's going on with Windows, but the indication here is 
that the stick really is a USB 1.1 device, not USB 2.0.  That's what the 
"Ver=" field in /proc/bus/usb/devices shows.

What does "lsusb -v -d1043:" have to say about the stick?
