I wrote a USB device driver that uses the usb_bulk_msg and usb_ctl_msg
functions. I wrote them on a SuSe 9.3 with a 2.6.11 kernel. There the driver
worked just fine. Then I cross compiled it for use on an XScale Embedded PC
using a Debian derivate using kernel 2.6.11, too. Everything was fine there,
too. When I tried it on my Debian system (3.1 V2) using a kernel 2.6.8-3 (lates
debian kernel) the USB bulk transfer is extremely slow. May the problem be in
the kernel? Would a newer kernel fix the problem?
P.s.: Very good manual on your site regarding Linux and USB.
