Okay, I have tried before here, but have been unsuccessful in making this device work.
I have a Sandisk Sansa e250, I'd like to see it work like my other USB storage devices. When I plug it in, pmount and udevd and hal all do the right thing and it just works. Except my E250 just fails to work. Also, I have a media reader, a 2GB Nano, a 20GB iPOD and three different brand cameras that work just fine with this setup. Here is the info for the various things. As you can see the e250 claims Bulk storage. I just would like to know why no drive gets allocated for it and have it show up on my desktop. FWIW, I an running Debian Sid (unstable), with experimental sprinkled in. It seems the machine sees it, but something is missing. prince:~# uname -a Linux prince 2.6.18-2-k7 #1 SMP Wed Nov 8 20:38:36 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux From /var/log/messages Nov 25 23:56:42 prince kernel: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6 Nov 25 23:56:42 prince kernel: usb 1-2: not running at top speed; connect to a high speed hub Nov 25 23:56:42 prince kernel: usb 1-2: configuration #128 chosen from 1 choice prince:~# lsmod | grep usb usb_storage 72768 0 usbhid 37728 0 scsi_mod 124872 3 usb_storage,sd_mod,libata ide_core 110984 6 usb_storage,ide_cd,via82cxxx,ide_disk,generic,pdc202xx_new usbcore 113412 6 usb_storage,usbhid,ohci_hcd,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd prince:/dev/bus/usb/001# ls -l total 0 crw-rw-r-- 1 root root 189, 0 2006-11-22 02:18 001 crw-rw-r-- 1 root root 189, 1 2006-11-22 02:18 002 crw-rw-r-- 1 root root 189, 5 2006-11-26 00:01 006 # lsusb -v -s 001:006 Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0781:7420 SanDisk Corp.
