I bought one through buy.com, with shipping I think it was cheaper than
CircuitCity.
I pulled it apart last night.
Here are the four chips listed.
1) THZ16B24 DELTA9924
2) LEVELONE 9916 EQS8 LXT905PC 19670
3) EliteMT LP61 256AS-12 9841T M7981BUA
4) K JAPAN KL5KUSB101BCL 9908 Q003
I'm not sure what (1) is.
(2) is the ethernet chipset. No it's not LiteOn like someone on the list
is reporting. It's a LevelOne chipset. 10baseT only. Full Duplex
capable but as Becker says, the Kawasaki chipset doesn't support it.
Nortel uses LevelOne chips on other prodcuts as well.
(3) is the prom
(4) is the USB Kawasaki chipset.
FreeBSD already has a port.

Becker didn't seem to keen on writing one.
Could someone else take William Paul's code and port it to Linux?
If we get a driver for linux for this. This is the cheapest USB nic out
there.
I also found NetGear support useless. One of their techs even told me
"this is a propriatary chipset". ahhahahahahah
No, it's a Kawasaki chipset used by many other vendors.
