I am trying to use linux-usb to connect to my USB printer (Epson Stylus
Photo 750) and am running into a couple of problems:

- The printer doesn't print
- I don't see anything in the /proc/bus/usb directory, even though usbdevfs
is mounted there.

I am using kernel 2.2.14 from Red Hat 6.2 with the 2.2.14 linux-usb backport
patch applied. I load usbcore.o, usb-uhci.o (I have also tried uhci.o with
the same results) and printer.o as modules, and I mount usbdevfs on
/proc/bus/usb.

The USB card is detected fine. The system log shows the detection. If I turn
on the printer, I see messages to the effect that the printer is detected
and that it is registered as usblp0. I do *not* get the "offline" messages
that some people have reported with the 750. If I now cat a file to
/dev/usb/usblp0 (major 180, minor 0), nothing happens. No system log
messages, no printer output, no error messages, nuttin'. If I turn off the
printer, the system log shows a disconnect. If I now cat to /dev/usb/usblp0,
I get a "no such device" error.

I would really like to be able to use my printer with USB - does anyone have
any ideas?
