Sorry for the little bit of confusion.
I'm on a 56k dialup connection right now, but the external serial modem I
have doesn't have voice capabilities, nor does the computer have any kind
of internal sound hardware. It does, though, have two network cards.
So the "modem" will be meant just for fax and voice mail purposes,
occationally (hopefully) also dialing in if DSL service goes down.
The DSL "modem" here is actually a bridge, from what I've been told. No
router unless I get a subnet from them. And I supposedly can keep the
hostname I have on my dialup service.
BTW, the Creative USB modem is said to have voice capabilities, according
to Creative.
