This was how the module worked in the beginning. I prefer the relative
mode for the mouse too. And I agree The relative mode should be included
in mousedev.o, the module that hopefully later on will be obsolete.
There has already on this list been patches to gpm, to support the
Graphire/Intous through the new input device.

Hopefully someone are working on the native XFree86 4.0 driver too.
