Ok,
With the patch applied, and everything compiled in, the contents of
/proc/bus/usb looks right. Now:
{0}:lh:/proc/bus/usb>cat /etc/passwd > /dev/usb/usblp0
cat: write error: Input/output error
{0}:lh:/proc/bus/usb>ls -la /dev/usb/usblp0
crwxrwxrwx 1 root root 180, 0 Feb 11 15:21 /dev/usb/usblp0
I've powered the printer off and on, and checked the connections.
It's a HP 882C.
