Does that mem address check out with the address in the PCI
configuration ("lspci -v" or somesuch)?  It's where the
driver expects to find a controller.  IRQ 0 sounds a bit
strange to me too, maybe you need that patch Martin sent
by earlier.

The last time an alpha/ohci problem came up, I remember
thinking there was clearly no controller at the address
in question -- it acted like one of the registers was
utter garbage (255 children just ain't possible :-).

I can imagine that certain bus accesses might be able to
wedge a machine that hard.
