Here's another patch to usb-storage. This is against pre6-2 + my last
patch. Randy, please send this to Linus when he digs himself out from
under his move.
This patch does the following:
(o) Implements string storage in the us_data structure, thereby
eliminating a race condition
(o) Adds comments and makes existing comments better formatted
(o) Fixes some of the more trivial FIXMEs, including things like renaming
functions and removing FIXME comments for things allready fixed
(o) Fixes the problem with ORB drive firmware
(o) Fixes the case of command failure with recovery failure
(o) Fixed abort/reset function return codes
(o) Eliminated duplicated code in control thread
(o) Fixed handling of requests to devices which have been removed
(o) Improved information displayed in the /proc/scsi/ interface
Really, this patch doesn't change much except for those of you with ORB
drives. Tho it makes things a good deal more pretty. The driver is now
down to 16 FIXME's.
BTW, does anyone want to volunteer to convert the driver to URBs? I'm
afraid that my day job is starting to pound on me some more, but the next
step to implementing the full abort/reset functionality isn't possible
without a full conversion to URBs. I had a patch that someone sent me at
one point which basically did it, but I seem to have lost that (along with
the name of the person who sent it to me).
