Possibly related ...
I can lock up the OHCI bus (not the whole machine) reliably with
one user mode usbdevfs call, and only the root hub present. I've
been seeing it off and on since pre3, when I started to be able
to use USB again.
The failure mode seems to be related to "khubd" no longer
wanting to do anything. "ps" says its WCHAN is "__end" if
that means anything. So no plugs or unplugs are dealt with.
This is after the timer has cause such status to get sent.
It's recoverable by rmmod usb-ohci and reloading.
Yes, I'm tracking this down. It does seem to be specific
to OHCI, I've tried it against UHCI (well, usb-uhci) and
it didn't happen. This morning I reproduced it on pre6-3
without any other patches, so I've ruled out the other
patches I'd applied (whew).
