Hi,

Set the console loglevel high (like Alt-SysRq-9)
and post the kernel log from when you plug in the
USB cable,
or post /proc/bus/usb/devices with the device
plugged in.
To do the latter, you must mount usbdevfs:
  mount -t usbdevfs usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb

When this device descriptor info, we can determine
if it is an ACM sub-class device that is handled
by the USB acm driver.
