Hi,
Ok, I just finished my quick testing of an all usb
(keyboard/mouse) setup on my system. Here's what I noticed:

Hardware:
- BP6 with QQ Final bios
- Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite

Kernels tested:
- 2.2.15pre20
- 2.2.15pre20 + USB backport patch
- 2.3.99-pre6-5
- 2.3.99-pre6-5 with USB support compiled directly into the kernel

Keyboard results:
All tests were with "USB Keyboard Support Via" set to BIOS.

- With no USB support in the kernel (both 2.2.15pre20 and 2.3.99pre6-5)
I get the following message when the capslock key is pressed, and
the capslock light does not work.

  Keyboard timeout[2]
keyboard: Too many NACKs -- noisy kbd cable?

- With USB support in the kernel (both 2.2.15pre20 and 2.3.99pre6-5)
the capslock light works and I don't get the keyboard timeout message

Another things I noticed with the keyboard emulation mode was a sluggish
feel in comparison to when the keyboard is using the USB support.

Looks to me like the current USB keyboard support works fine, and in emulation
mode the keyboard works well enough to recompile the kernel with usb support
if your kernel is currently lacking such support :)
