A while back when looking for a multifunction hub, I came across one
similar at
http://www.usbworkshop.com/products/description.php3?tablename=usbhubslist&productid=37
which led to http://www.usbgear.com/usa/view_detail.cfm?id=122
[at the time {during the inaky days of Linux-USB} the entrega HUB4U2S1P
looked more appealing both price wise and functionality. It has 4 USB
ports, 2 Serial, 1 Parallel. The 2 serial are a single USB device
{marketing counts them as 7 ports} with port 7 inaccessible/unused but
still "wired" internally]
I have also seen a USB to serial converter made by MCT
(http://www.mct.com.tw/product_7.html) that shows up as a 5 port device
where only the interal serial port is physically connected... [I guess it
is cheaper to mass produce the 5 port integrated chips, and only wire what
is needed]
