Hi, well, the thought I would let people know, it seems that the usb_control/bil_mdg: timeout I was receiveing was associated with a buggy bios, I flashed the bios (which caused a differant problem grrrr.. Thank heaven for rescue disks :>) and then installed the usb-uhci and scanner modules. Everything began working.
