Greg,

FYI, the V4L subsystem handles devfs nicely. It creates an entry in
/dev/v4l/ for my OV511. Unfortunately though, it doesn't seem to create
a compatibility symlink such as /dev/video0 for it, so most V4L apps are
"broken" by default.
