Hi,
I've been tinkering away for a while now trying to get my Iomega ZipCD 650
working under Linux.
I had previously been able to get it to read disks ok under 2.2.14 patched
with the usb-2.3.50-1 backport patches (after applying the additional
patches that I submitted a few weeks ago). I could mount a CD & read it OK
although mounting seems to take a very long time sometimes. In the log you
can see that some of the SCSI commands fail on the first or second attempt.
Since then I've upgraded to 2.3.99pre6. Now I can't mount a CD at all.
Sequence is as follows:
root /home/mharris # /sbin/modprobe usb-ohci
root /home/mharris # /sbin/modprobe usb-storage
root /home/mharris # /sbin/modprobe sr_mod
root /home/mharris # mount -t iso9660 /dev/sra0 /mnt/zipcd
mount: block device /dev/sra0 is write-protected, mounting read-only
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sra0,
or too many mounted file systems
I've attached two kernel logs: one from performing the above sequence on
2.2.14 with backport, the other from 2.3.99pre6.
Has anyone seen problems like this before?
Regards,
Mike.
