Trying to get USB going on 2.2.15 kernel with 2.3.99-pre7 backport
patch. Had it working so well on 2.2.14 using 2.3.39 patch. My end
goal is to get the new type Epson Stylus Photo 870 running over USB...

After testing the backbort on both 2.2.14 and 2.2.15, I am stuck at the
same point. During boot it loads:

usb-uhci 21248 0 (unused)
usbcore 38856 0 [wmforce hid usb-uhci]

and in messages I see

May 21 23:04:23 pino kernel: input0: USB HID v1.00 Pointer
May 21 23:04:23 pino kernel: usb.c: USB new device connect, assigned
device number 4
May 21 23:04:23 pino kernel: js0: Joystick device for input1
May 21 23:04:23 pino kernel: input1: Logitech WingMan Force USB

Thus something is working. But, after boot has finished I seem to have
no
/proc/bus/usb/devices directory. Also the node /dev/usb/js0 seems not
attached, and both usbview and jstest fails. Works with the 2.3.39
patch.

I have compiled in CONFIG_USB_DEVICEFS=y & CONFIG_PROC_FS=y.

Voitech helped me to a new set of modutils, and that got me one step
further, but now I'm stuck again...

Any hint would be appreciated.
