> ... Linux kernel revision 2.2.14 taken from www.kernel.org ...

Have all the web site startup troubles died away?

Read of forum works without registering,
nothing more works while registering,
the rest works after following the instructions
mailed to you at the completion of registering?

The you-are-registered mail arrives too slowly
to keep you from going on to somewhere else
meanwhile ... but does arrive, say, within an hour?

For me, here at work, Win 98 IE 4, this URL works after I register:
        http://www.iomega.com/software/featured/linux_thanks.html
For me this works even if I use the syntax previously cited as not working:
        http://147.178.1.89/software/featured/linux_thanks.html

For me, at home, Win 95 IE 5 AOL, before registering, what I see working is as follows:

http://www.iomega.com/

        link "software download" goes to
        http://www.iomega.com/software/index.html
which identifies itself as "software / drivers"

link "Download Linux drivers for Iomega... drives" goes to
                http://www.iomega.com/software/featured/linux_reg.html

link "Enter the Iomega... Linux Forum." goes to
                http://forums.iomega.com/

link "Login as a guest!" goes to
                        http://forums.iomega.com/eshare/server?action=106

                                link "Linux Community" goes to

http://forums.iomega.com/eshare/server?action=190&PAGE=2&EXPANDFULLY=0&EXPANDB
RANCH=0&ASORT=3&BSORT=1&AEXPAND=&BEXPAND=&BOARD=17

                                and so on

I see such statements as:

"... the tarballs that Iomega (R) is providing contain the exact, unaltered
drivers found in the pristine Linux kernel revision 2.2.14 taken from
www.kernel.org ..."

"... http://www.iomega.com/software/dnldhelp.html ...
[Iomega supports only] an HTML 3.2 compliant Web browser, such as Netscape
Navigator... 3.0 and later versions or Microsoft Internet Explorer... 4.0 or later.
Check your browser's settings. Make sure your Web browser's preferences
comply with the following: Cookies are enabled or accepted. Java... and
JavaScript... are enabled. Warnings on redirects are disabled ..."

"... not found any drivers for Linux to support the Ditto 2Gb internal tape
drive as yet."

I see there is an alternative syntax that appears to have no substantive difference:
resting the mouse on <www.iomega.com> "software download"
gives me a "Go" link to <http://www.iomega.com/software>
which reaches a place visually indistinguishable from
<http://www.iomega.com/software/index.html>.
