I have one problem with your suggestion for
alias char-major-81 nt1003
in /etc/modules.conf. I have more than one video device,
albeit not plugged in simultaneously at present, so that would
require manual editing of the conf file followed by depmod -a
instead. Is there any way for the device, usbdevfs or whatever
to recognise the device and load the right driver from a selection
of aliases to char-major-81?
