The good news is I've got two video cams working simultaneously using two
USB controllers on my laptop!
The bad news is, after somewhere between a few hundred and few thousand
frames data stops arriving at the applications (e.g. xawtv) from the OV511
cam connected to the Cardbus OHCI controller on my laptop.
No lockup, no messages, no other problems - the apps just stop working and
don't work after being restarted until I "rmmod usb-ohci" then "insmod
usb-ohci" afterwhich the app works for another few thousand frames.
Removing and reinstalling ov511.o has no effect.
I have a second ov511 camera connected to the built in USB controller using
JE's UHCI driver. That camera keeps going and going and going... :-) Note
that the problem with the other camera seems to be unaffected by whether or
not the camera connected to the UHCI controller is active (or whether uhci.o
is loaded).
I'm running 2.4.0-test2-pre5.
I only got the OHCI controller yesterday and don't have much experience with
OHCI. Where might I start to look to fix this problem? I didn't get very
many debug messages when I #define DEBUG in usb-ohci.c . Is there something
else I need to do?
