This sound like the same problem that I am now having; only that most of the time the system goes into a reboot cyle and continues until lilo boots the kernel, (2.0.3.6). I was thinking that the boot sector was defective, so I attempted to reinstall lilo. It did not work. Occasionally, the system will in fact, hang, just as you described. However booting to dos and using loadlin to get the kernel running works. I would be most apprecitive if you could explain what is wrong and how to fix it.
