I have that thing, it's really really flaky.  Make sure you have the
latest BIOS update, and please update to a newer kernel, 4.11.0 is old
for xhci fixes.

What do you mean by this?

What computer are you using this on?

And again, it's a really odd device, this is really a PCI hotplug device
for a xhci controller.  Even on the latest kernel releases I sometimes
have problems with mine.
